Part of the Accor Group, the Novotel Devonport is located in northern Tasmania, alongside the Mersey River. The hotel is positioned in the heart of Devonport with stunning water, park, and city views, and is a short drive from the Spirit of Tasmania terminal. One of the largest hotel developments in Tasmania, the 4-star accommodation includes 187 rooms, each featuring works by local photographer Nuala Byrne highlighting the striking scenery of the region.
The Brief
Rheem Commercial was brought in to provide a gas water heating system to service the 187 rooms and commercial restaurant kitchen in an energy-efficient manner.
Reliable water heating is essential for hotels, and Rheem Commercial was required to find a solution large enough to provide continual access to hot water for guest rooms, the commercial kitchen and bar, and laundry services.
The Solution
With hundreds of access points requiring on-demand hot water, the Rheem Tankpank range was the perfect solution. The team selected the Rheem Series 3 Tankpak system as it combines the benefits of mains pressure and continuous flow water heating, thanks to electronic staging and rotation features.
With 84 per cent thermal efficiency, 6-star heat source and coming complete with a five-year warranty, the Rheem Tankpak system was supplied assembled and tested, needing only a simple connection to the storage tank on site.
The solution was designed in conjunction with Sixty Degrees Engineering in Launceston and installed by Palmers Plumbing Devonport.
